Robin Sullivan in the studio, with the Monolith Sculptures in progress
Inspired by Newquay’s fascinating ancient history, this project connects the old with the new.
In these playful workshop sessions led by Robin, you will use clay to capture intersting textures, patterns and marks from the local surroundings, that will be used on the Monoliths themselves - three large public sculptures, which will be permanently installed at locations across Newquay: Barrowfields, Newquay Orchard and Nansledan.
The project aims to connect the people who live in Newquay to the history of this place, and to each other.
Everyone is welcome to join these free, playful creative sessions and and no experience is required.
All materials are provided. Just bring your creativity, and maybe an apron.
All children must be supervised by an adult at all times.
Don’t miss this chance to be part of Newquay’s evolving creative story!
This project is commissioned by Cornwall Council Project Experience Newquay. It is part-funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
